8 Days Tour in Veneto (Italy) and Milano: Part 4 (Visit to Milano)

It has been a long time since my wife and I wanted to visit Venezia, Padova, and Verona (in the Veneto Region of Italy). As follows, we report our trip experience indicating what is worth visiting and a description of the best restaurants we tried during our holidays according to different criteria (location, menu, service, and price). Our tips and plan can be adapted to 6-8 Days in Italy spent in the areas of Venice, Padova & Verona.

Structure of Pages in this Blog post:

- Days 1 and 2 - Visit to Venice

- Day 3 (morning) - Visit to Padova

- Day 3 (evening), Day 4 (End of the Year), and Day 5 - In Verona

- Day 6 and Day 7 - In Milano

Day 6-8 - In Milano:

On the way back to Switzerland, we decided to visit Milano. Indeed it was a unique opportunity to visit the city and at the same time watch a soccer match in Serie A. Specifically, Cristiana's favorite soccer team in Italy is "AC Milan", while one of Sebastiano's is "AS Roma".

During the days we spent in Milano we visited the city and specifically the Duomo (and the surrounding area both in the morning and evening hours during the two days). On the first day, we had brunch at a very good place, called "Bianco Latte" (see details and pictures of the place below).

Restaurant 4: BiancoLatteLocation 8.5:  elegant and well organized.Menù 8.5: Great variety of food options, and a place to go also for a brunch (which is what we got). We took "classic brunch", a "bowl of flakes and granola", orange juice, and a fruit extract.Service 9: rapid and welcoming, Price 8: in line with the offer.

After the brunch, we visited "La Mostra di Leonardo" (Da Vinci). Given Sebastiano's background in computer science and Cristiana background in biology, we were amazed by the many inventions in different areas (from architecture, engineering, mechanics, art, etc.) done by Leonardo Da Vinci. Among other things, it is possible to appreciate "The Last Supper" (called in Italian "ultima cena") mural by Leonardo da Vinci.
Among the various inventions, Sebastiano has been fascinated to discover that Leonardo imaged a world with automated robotic systems, hundreds of years before the diffusion of the robotic field (see pictures below to get a feeling about it). Complementary Cristiana was very happy to see her favorite painting from Leonardo: "The Lady with an Ermine" (or "La Dama con l'ermellino") is an oil painting on panel (54 ×40 cm) by Leonardo da Vinci, dated 1488-1490.

See how to interactively paint the "The Last Supper" (called in Italian "ultima cena") mural by Leonardo da Vinci:

After the visit to the museum, we got a 4-5 hours from the actual soccer match between AC Milan and AS Roma. To spend some good time, we did a walk over the city and had the opportunity to see inside and outside "Santa Maria Delle Grazie", a church and Dominican convent in Milano.

Then, right before the match, we visited the area of "City Life" of Milano as well as the "Castello Sforzesco", which are worth to be visited as well.

After so much walking we finally went to the "San Siro Stadium" to see the soccer match between AC Milan and AS Roma (January 8, 2023).

Our adventure finishes with the last moments of the match. The atmosphere in the stadium was vibrant and the pressure to win the match was high for both teams. In the end, for the good of our couple, the match ended up with a result of 2 - 2, with two goals scored by the AS Roma in the last 5-7 minutes.

Return back to Switzerland (Zurich).
